About LLMDex
LLMDex is the index every developer wishes existed: a clean, honest, version-controlled catalogue of every large language model and AI developer tool that matters in 2026. Pricing, context windows, benchmarks, head-to-head comparisons, and use-case rankings, all in one place, none of it fabricated.
We exist because the AI tooling space moved faster than its information layer. New models ship weekly. Pricing changes quarterly. Half the "benchmark" numbers floating on social media are made up. The other half are right but two months out of date. LLMDex tries to be the source of truth for the part you can actually verify.
Who it's for
LLMDex is built for developers, AI engineers, and technical founders choosing models and tools to ship real products. If you've ever tabbed through five provider pricing pages to compare three options on a deadline, you're the audience. If you've ever pasted benchmark numbers into a slide and then quietly removed them when a colleague asked where they came from, same.
What you can do here
- Look up a specific model on its spec page, pricing, context window, benchmarks, strengths, weaknesses.
- Compare any two models in seconds with a programmatic verdict on the compare hub.
- Find alternatives to a tool you're considering on the alternatives index.
- See ranked picks for sixty common tasks under Best for….
- Subscribe to the Friday digest for new releases and weekly leaks.
How we make money
LLMDex is reader-supported via affiliate partnerships. Some links to tools and providers carry a referral code that sends a small fraction of any signup back to us. These links are clearly marked "sponsored" and never alter our rankings or recommendations. We'd rather lose the partnership than lie to you. Read the full methodology for our standards.
Who's behind it
LLMDex is an independent project. The data lives in a public git repository so every change is auditable; the code is open for extension; and the editorial decisions are documented on the methodology page rather than hand-waved.
